Joyful Heart Foundation

Joyful heart foundationAt Joyful Heart Foundation are incredibly grateful to you for your interest in getting more involved in our work and efforts to end sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. In 2004, Joyful Heart was just a glimmer of an idea—an idea that began when Mariska Hargitay started her role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. It was an idea to help the millions of survivors heal and reclaim their lives, an idea that if we turn towards these issues together, the weight of these crimes doesn’t have to be carried alone. With the support of people like you, we’ve accomplished so much since then. Yet much work lies ahead—and that’s where you come in.

For a while now, we’ve been calling what we’re doing a “joyful revolution.” And we’re asking you to join it by turning towards these issues.

The turn is simple—and profound. As it did for Mariska, it can often begin with learning more about these issues and how they affect peoples’ lives. In exploring this section, we invite you to keep this in mind—and to never underestimate the impact you can have on someone’s life—simply by being informed and supportive.

“If we are able to communicate only one thing about your role in a survivor’s journey, it is this: never, ever underestimate your power to affect its course.”
